Chapter 582 summary
Roughly two weeks after the War at the Summit, Marine forces are stretched thin across the seas and pirates in the West Blue prepare to head for the Grand Line. Ivankov departs Amazon Lily and leaves Luffy in Jimbei's care. Luffy awakens in a panic and screams for Ace while the Heart Pirates and Kuja warriors try to restrain him. Hancock wants to see Luffy immediately but is reminded that she must wait until he recovers and that the men are already an exception on the island. Luffy rampages through the forest, reopening his wounds as memories of Ace's death return, until Jimbei stops him and confirms that Ace is dead. Luffy breaks down in tears. The scene shifts ten years earlier to Mt. Corbo, where Garp drags a young Luffy to Dadan's hideout and announces that Ace will now live with them.
