One Piece Chapter 800: An Underling's Vow

A vibrant color splash page shows Monkey D. Luffy in his straw hat, blue vest, and pink shorts standing on a tiger-striped creature in a lush jungle. He points excitedly forward with a wide grin while holding a long stick. Beside him, a smiling woman with long dark hair, wearing a pink hooded jacket with fur trim, raises one arm. In the background, a massive waterfall cascades down, with several figures visible on rocks and in the water below, including one leaping through the air. Bright sunlight filters through the trees, creating dramatic rays.

A massive pirate fleet fills the harbor as voices debate Luffy's future. One speaker declares, 'LUFFY-SENPAI, YOU'RE THE MAN THAT WILL ONE DAY BECOME THE PIRATE KING!' Another adds, 'YOU BETCHA! WITH 5600 UNDERLINGS AT YOUR BECK AND CALL, YOU'LL FINALLY BE ABLE TO OPENLY BECOME A BIGSHOT PIRATE!' A tiny figure in a hat chimes in about the Grand Fleet. Luffy laughs heartily at a barrel, shouting 'THERE'S NO WAY I'M DRINKIN' THIS!' while a voice asks, 'BUT, IF I DRINK THIS, DOESN'T THAT MEAN...' The scene shifts to the docks where pirates argue. One yells, 'EVEN THE STRONGEST CANNOT BEST THE STRENGTH TO BE FOUND IN NUMBERS!' Another growls, 'WHY, STRAW HAT!I WHAT PART OF THIS FORMIDABLE POWER DISPLEASES YOU!I' A man with curly hair offers, 'POUR THIS STUFF BACK IN THE BARREL. I'LL TAKE MY TIME GUZZLING IT...' while a blond man smiles and says, 'LEAVE IT BE. HE JUST DOESN'T TAKE TO THIS KIND OF STUFF.' A fierce fish-man warns, 'YOU GUYS! BECAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT, YOU'RE ALL GONNA END UP ON THE HOTSHOTS' HIT LISTS!'

Luffy's face twists in disgust as he declares 'TOO UPTIGHT.' Nearby voices react in shock: 'WHAAAAAAAAAAT!I HE LOOKS ABOUT READY TO PUKE!' and 'CRAP, HIS ATTENTION'S SWITCHED TO THE FOOD!' A man with a long nose notes, 'ANYWAY, MY NOSE TELLS ME YOU GUYS ARE PREPARING A BANQUET BACK THERE!' On the docks, tensions rise. A pirate snaps, 'THAT'S A FINE WAY TO TALK TO THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE YOUR CAPTAIN, YOU MORONS!' while another growls, 'YOU BASTARD, ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT WE'RE TOO WEAK!I AND TO THINK I THOUGHT OF YOU AS OUR SAVIOR!!' A woman with goggles shouts, 'GET THE FOOD. WE'LL MAKE HIM DRINK IT WHILE HE'S EATING.' A tall figure with a trident yells, 'NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THIS TOMFOOLERY, STRAW HAT! I, YOUR SENPAI, THE STAR HIMSELF... IS DOING YOU THE AMAZING FAVOR OF JOINING UNDER YOU!'

Luffy leans forward with a furious expression, sweat flying as he roars, "I'VE GOT NO INTEREST IN BEING SOME POOFY BIG-SHOT!" He follows up immediately, "LIKE I SAID! I'M GONNA BE THE PIRATE KING!" The declaration leaves nearby figures stunned. An eye-patched man sweats and mutters, "OI... DID HE REALLY JUST SAY THAT..." Cavendish and other gladiators react with shock and question marks floating above their heads. In the lower section, a large man in a CORRIDA tank top tastes sake and comments, "NOT HALF-BAD, YOU SAY..." while Luffy's voice echoes "LIFUFU..." A curly-haired fighter is struck and exclaims as another voice notes, "THIS SAKE... NOT HALF-BAD..."

On the raised stage of the Colosseum, Luffy stands with arms spread as a massive crowd watches. A voice from the stands calls out, "WE'LL JUST YELL FOR YOU GUYS! AND IF THAT EVER HAPPENS, COME HELP US!" Another adds, "IF WE HAPPEN TO GET INTO A PINCH..." Luffy smiles and replies, "I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT WE ALL FOUGHT MINGO TOGETHER!" He continues, "THERE'S NO NEED FOR ALL THIS PARENT-CHILD BOSS-UNDERLING STUFF, RIGHT!I I DON'T NEED TO BE SOME CRAZY BIGSHOT PIRATE. IF YOU GUYS ARE EVER IN TROUBLE, JUST YELL FOR ME! YOU HAVE MY WORD, I'LL BE THERE BEFORE YA' KNOW IT!" A close-up shows an old man thinking, "Luffy-senpai's idea of a Pirate King..." Suddenly cannon fire erupts; a pirate yells "CANNON-FIRE! WHAT'S GOING ON!I" as explosions rock the area and someone screams "UWA AAH!"

Chaos erupts among the alliance leaders. One shouts, "DOESN'T MATTER WHO THEY ARE, DRIVE 'EM OFF!" Another yells, "LET'S LET CORLUMBUS HANDLE THIS ONE! WE'RE STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR MEETING HERE!" A woman with goggles cries, "NO WAY! I'M SURE WE STITCHED ALL THE NAVY SHIPS TOGETHER BEFORE COMING HERE! IS IT THE MARINES!I" A wide shot reveals the harbor filled with warships as narration explains the interrupted negotiation with Doflamingo. A tall figure in a bicorne hat declares, "IF THE KING OF THIS ISLAND'S CHANGED, WE'RE ALSO GOING TO HAVE TO SEE THIS NEW KING RIKU TO HAVE THIS DEAL COMPLETED!" Crew members panic, "FIRE! FIRE!" while the leader points and roars, "WE ARE A FLEET ALLIANCE MADE UP OF THOSE WHO BEAR A GRUDGE, STRAW HAT!"

Bartolomeo yells, "SAME HERE! OI, BARTOLOMEO! LET'S GET THINGS STARTED! THERE'S NO NEED FOR HIM TO DRINK HIS PARENT PORTION ANYWAY." A wild-haired figure laughs "DIGAGA GAGAGA!" while another sweats and thinks, "WHY... I... I CAN'T HELP BUT ADMIRE YOU ALL THE MORE, LUFFY-SENPAI!" The group debates: a goggled woman says "HMI ACTUALLY, YOU'RE RIGHT!" A striped-shirt man adds, "SOMETHING TELLS ME YOU'RE NOT THE TYPE OF GUY TO PREVENT ANOTHER FROM EXERCISING HIS FREE WILL." Cavendish notes, "IT'S BETTER IF BOTH SIDES JUST DO WHAT THEY FEEL IS BEST." Luffy looks surprised as a smiling blonde woman agrees, "YOU DO HAVE A POINT." In the harbor, Orlumbus's massive Yonta Maria Grand Fleet opens fire with the cry "FIRE!" as ships sink and a voice boasts, "PEOPLE WILL DEFINITELY REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE GUY THAT SINKS THAT BADBOY!" Luffy stands watching with a neutral expression while Bartolomeo cheers, "WE'RE PRETTY MUCH JUST UP AND DOING THIS ON OUR OWN, BUT HERE GOES! LUFFY-SENPAI!"

Explosions rock the area as a frantic voice yells "FIRE! FIRE!" A soldier warns, "But, if we don't stay here, Fujitora's gonna—" while another shouts, "CITIZENS OF DRESSROSA! RETURN TO THE MAINLAND! IT ISN'T SAFE HERE!" Massive chunks of rubble crash down onto the enemy fleet below. A striped-hatted fighter reacts with "!!I" as debris smashes ships. Luffy's small craft splashes into the water. "NOW THEN, LUFFY-SENPAI!" someone calls. A close-up shows a determined face declaring, "A PARTING GIFT, STRAW HAT." From afar, rubble rains as voices cry, "ON THE ENEMY FLEET! WHOAAA! THE RUBBLE'S FALLING..."

In a dramatic gathering, the towering figure with bound arms proclaims, "OUR VOWS TO BE YOUR UNDERLINGS!" The group continues in unison: "WE 7, WITH EVERY FIBER OF OUR BEING, DO HEREBY VERY SELFISHLY TAKE, WITH THESE CUPS OF SAKE, AS REPAYMENT FOR ALL THOU HAST DONE FOR US! BECOME THY SHIELD! OR THY SWORD! WE HEREBY SWEAR TO, AT ANY TIME AND CIRCUMSTANCE..." Bartolomeo, Cavendish, and the others raise sake cups in pledge as massive impact lettering "ドンッ!!!" shakes the scene. A small figure watches from below.

Luffy reacts with shock as a massive "くしゃっ!!" sound erupts. "AH!" he exclaims. From the fleet, a voice demands, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS DOING!I" while another cheers, "HEE EEEE EEEY!" The celebration erupts: "TIME TO CELEBRATE THE FORMATION OF THE 5600 STRONG STRAW HAT GRAND FLEET!" "IS THE BANQUET READY YET!I HURRY!" "OHH! NOW WE CAN OPENLY..." Luffy grins widely, "UHAHAH! AN UNDERLING'S VOW! WHO'S EVER EVEN HEARD OF SUCH A THING!I" as the crowd cheers "EVERYTHING'S SET!"

Luffy protests while being carried, "I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY HAD A SINGLE DROP, YOU DOOFS! AND YET THIS THING IS EMPTY!" A voice replies, "OI!" The crowd laughs. Luffy continues, "AND IF ANYTHING EVER HAPPENS, WE'LL COME OF OUR OWN ACCORD TO YOUR AID!" Someone answers, "YEP! AND THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE! YOU CONTINUE ACTING THE WAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE. WE'VE JUST SELFISHLY PLEDGED VOWS OF FEALTY TO YOU!" Overwhelmed, Luffy says, "NO... I DON'T EVEN THINK I CAN STAND... I'M TOO OVERWHELMED..." Leo calls, "LEO! WE'RE GOING TO START THE BANQUET AFTER WE'VE SET SAIL; WHAT ARE YOU TONTATTA GONNA DOI" The reply comes, "WE'LL JUST RETURN ON THE YELLOW CUB ONCE IT'S OVER! DON'T WORRY!" Another adds, "WE'LL TAKE PART IN THE BANQUET!" Luffy concludes, "THAT SOUNDS FRIGGIN' AMAZING! LUFFY! SEEMS THE MAIN COURSE IS GONNA BE FIGHTING FISH STEAK!"

On a cliffside overlooking the sea, a woman with dark hair speaks softly while watching distant ships. "I'M GLAD. LUCY... I WONDER IF I'LL EVER MEET HIM AGAIN." Beside her, another figure replies, "LOOKS LIKE THEY SET SAIL SAFELY." Below, a close-up shows a man gripping a woman's hand; she smiles and says "FUFUFU!" while thinking "FEELS WARM, DOESN'T ITI" He answers "EVER SO WARM..." and she replies "YES..." A small child stands nearby. The man suddenly protests, "I- I'M NOT CRYING, DAMN IT! DON'T BE SILLY!" as another voice asks, "HMI WHAT'S THISI YOU CRYING AGAINI" In the harbor, massive debris rains down around the Thousand Sunny and allied ships. Voices shout in alarm: "WHAT THE BLAZES IS GOING ON-DARA!I" "WELL, HERE'S THE THING... ALL THE DEBRIS IS SOMEHOW MISSING THE BOATS, AND..." "HAVE THE STRAW HATS FINALLY BEEN DONE IN!I" "THE RUBBLE'S FINALLY BEGUN TO FALL, HASN'T IT!I" "VICE ADMIRAL BASTILLE! WE HAVE A REPORT!" A caption notes, "TODAY, IN THE WATERS OFF THE COAST OF DRESSROSA... 'RUBBLEY AND LATER SUNNY.'" Another box states a strange weather pattern was observed. On the docks, a large man with a scar reacts in shock, "AGH!" while another figure yells, "I HEARD THAT, YOU KNOW." A small person sits atop a larger one's shoulders. The scarred man then bows deeply, declaring, "FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU... I REALLY HAVE NO RIGHT TO PURSUE YOU ALL... FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE IN KEEPING THE GOVERNMENT'S ASS CLEAN... I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL TO KEEP THIS GOVERNMENT'S SECRET, BUT..."

A chaotic celebration erupts across multiple panels. Straw Hat Luffy stands on a balcony holding a mug, grinning widely as he announces, "NOW THEN, BOYS... TIME TO CELEBRATE THAT IN OUR FIGHT WITH MINGO'S FAMILY." The crowd below roars with joy. Narration boxes declare: "STRAW HAT LUFFY'S UNDERLINGS. TODAY, 7 ROGUES DECLARED THEMSELVES..." "THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A PIVOTAL OCCURRENCE IN THIS AGE, BUT..." "EACH WILL SOON GROW INTO THEIR OWN, AND LEAVE THEIR MARK ON HISTORY ITSELF." "THAT IS A TALE..." A beaming close-up of a young man with a long nose exclaims, "THAT HAS YET TO BE TOLD." The scene explodes into a massive party: people cheer "WOOOO HOOO!!", "YEEEAA AAAH HHHH!", and "WON!" while raising fists and mugs. A box reads, "WE MAY NEVER KNOW WHETHER THEY WERE DRAWN TO HIM OR IF THEY HAD SOME OTHER PLAN IN MIND, BUT..." The final caption states, "A MOST UNPRECEDENTED 'UNDERLING'S VOW' TOOK PLACE HERE TODAY." The page ends with the One Piece logo and "CH. 800 END".
