One Piece Chapter 853: Not Here!

A full-color splash page shows Monkey D. Luffy in his straw hat and open shirt, riding a large striped tiger-like creature through a lush jungle. He leans forward with one arm outstretched toward a brilliant waterfall cascading from the treetops. Beside him stands a smiling woman with long dark hair wearing a pink fur-trimmed hooded jacket, one arm raised. In the background, several other figures including a blonde man and a person in an orange outfit leap or fall near the waterfall.

Big Mom towers in the center, laughing heartily with her mouth wide open while holding the tiny form of Brook (Soul King) in one hand. Her three special homies—Prometheus the Sun, Zeus the Thunderhead, and Napoleon the bicorne hat—float nearby with expressive faces. Prometheus declares, "THEY'RE SPECIAL!" Zeus adds, "BUT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DEFEAT THESE THREE!" Napoleon states, "I'VE GIVEN THEM MY SOUL DIRECTLY!" Big Mom exclaims, "THEY'RE BASICALLY MY CLONES!" and "THE LEVEL OF THEIR SOULS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!" She pets Brook affectionately, calling him "PET PET" and praising, "YOUR FIGHTING WAS QUITE WONDERFUL, TOO, SOUL KING." Brook sweats nervously as chess soldiers in the foreground report, "WE'VE COMPLETED OUR INVESTIGATION, MAMA!" and "HEHEHE..." Big Mom leans in close with a surprised expression, apologizing, "SORRY FOR SUSPECTING YOU~ HOW EMBARRASSING!" Nearby voices comment, "THIS IS SO DISGRACEFUL... In the next panel Big Mom continues speaking with a serious face, "HE USED SOME STRANGE POWER THAT INVOLVED HEARING 'THE VOICE OF ALL THINGS' OR SOMETHING TO READ THAT DAMN THING... BUT WE'VE GOT OUR OWN ACE-IN-THE-HOLE THAT'LL ONE DAY DEVELOP THAT SAME POWER, THOUGH..." A chess soldier adds, "IF SOMEONE WERE TO MAKE OFF WITH THOSE THINGS AND FIND THEIR WAY TO RAFTEL AGAIN... THERE'S NO WAY I'D LET ANY OF THAT STUFF GET STOLEN FROM UNDER MY NOSE! LEAVE ALONE THE TAMATEBAKO... EVEN A RUBBING OF THE PONEGLYPH..." Another figure laughs, "I WON'T EVER MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID BACK THEN WITH ROGER! I'D LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT, RIGHTI! HAHAHA!"

Big Mom towers in the grand hall, shouting "MAMA!" as a voice declares, "WE'RE GONNA BE THE NEXT ONES TO MAKE IT TO RAFTEL!" Pudding stands before her with a serious expression. "I'M A HALF-BREED, YOU KNOW!" she insists. Big Mom leans in with a wide grin, "WHAT'S THE MATTERI DID YOUR THIRD EYE MANAGE TO ACHIEVE TRUE OPENINGI" and adds, "OH! MY CUTE PUDDING! I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT YOU, AND HERE YOU ARE!" Pudding retorts, "LIGH H, COME ON MAMA! THAT'S ALL YOU EVER TALK ABOUT!" and continues, "THERE ISN'T EVEN ANY GUARANTEE THAT I'LL EVER AWAKEN SUCH A POWER ANYWAY!" In the lower panels, Pudding nervously asks, "SAY, MAMA! I WANT TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT SOMETHING, BUT IT'S A BIT EMBARRASSING TO SAY HERE. CAN WE GO TO YOUR ROOMI" Big Mom replies cheerfully, "OHI SURE! LET'S GO." Nearby reactions include "AH... MUSTN'T LET ON THAT WE'RE ACQUAINTED..." and "HAGH... P-PUDDING IS A THREE-EYESI" while Big Mom laughs, "HAAAAHAHA! SORRY~ BUT THERE'S NO DENYING THE FACT THAT YOU'VE GOT THE BLOOD OF THE STRANGE THREE-EYE TRIBE RUNNING IN YOUR VEINS!" and notes, "THAT BONE-MAN MADE IT ALL THE WAY OUT HEREI!"

Chaos erupts in the third floor courtyard as explosions rock the area. A voice yells "VISCOUNT!" while another shouts "GET 'IM!" and "GO!" with massive impact sounds "ギャアッッ!!". Viscount Chick, a tall bird-like figure in a top hat, clashes violently with a cloaked warrior whose face twists in rage. The warrior growls "HAA... HAA..." as Viscount Chick taunts, "VISCOUNT CHICK!" The fight intensifies with rapid strikes; Viscount Chick is sent flying amid "PYO!" and "PYO OOO OO!" sounds while the cloaked fighter roars "NNNN GHHN NNNN!" Dust and debris fill the air as onlookers watch the brutal exchange.

The battle rages on with Viscount Chick transforming further. A voice commands "STOP THAT!" as the cloaked fighter yells "HOW STUPID. I'LL JUST FINISH HIM OFF NOW." Viscount Chick cries out "DUKE CHICKEN!" while another exclaims "WHOOO-AAAAA! THESE CRIES... WILL IT HAPPENI! HIS NEXT EVOLUTIONI!" and "CLU UUUU UCK!" The cloaked warrior declares, "I DON'T FEEL LIKE WAITING AROUND. IF HE EVOLVES, YOU'LL BE NOTHING MORE THAN DUST AT HIS FEET!" and identifies the power: "THE TAMA-TAMA NO MI! DUKE CHICKEN IS A TRUE KNIGHT! FEAR HIM! FROM 'BARON EGG' TO 'VISCOUNT CHICK'! AND THEN TO 'DUKE CHICKEN!' EVERY TIME IT BREAKS, HE IS REBORN STRONGER!" Panicked soldiers shout "STOOO OOOOP!" and "STOP HIM!" as the creature grows larger amid heavy impact effects.

A massive explosion engulfs the courtyard with "ドゴォォォ...!!" and "UWAA AAAA AAAH!" as the cloaked warrior is hurled backward. The warrior growls, "ALRIGHT. IT ENDS HERE, I GUESS." while soldiers react in shock "!!I" and "RUSTLE". The cloaked figure then unleashes a barrage, shouting "WHOAAAAAI! BOMBSI! YOU BASTARD, WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING ATI!" as "PYOOSH" sounds echo. He continues, "AS A DECOY, I COULDN'T WISH FOR ANYTHING MORE! THERE SURE ARE A LOT OF YOU SOLDIERS CLUSTERED AROUND HERE..." and commands "STOOOOOOP! BACK! RUN, MEN!" as the battlefield fills with smoke, flying debris, and panicked troops fleeing the blasts.

Inside the bizarre checkered Mirror World, Pedro pants heavily, "HAA... HAA..." while the others react in shock. "YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME, PEDRO!" "YOU'RE INSANE! SHEESH..." "WHOAA! THAT WAS CLOSE!" A sign reads "MIRROR WORLD". Carrot praises Pedro, "LIKE THIS IN BARELY A FEW SECONDS! YOU'RE AMAZING, PEDRO♡" as he explains, "I WAS THE ONE SURPRISED, TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH..." Luffy's group presses him, "WE CAN SAVE SANJI THIS WAY TOO! TELL US WHAT YOU KNOW!" Pedro replies, "PEOPLE CAN'T ENTER OR LEAVE THIS WORLD WITHOUT BRULEE. WE'RE SAFE HERE!" Carrot adds, "SO I GUESS WE'RE ACTUALLY INSIDE A MIRROR NOW... KIND OF HARD TO BELIEVE."

The group hurries through the mirror dimension. "I JUST HOPE HE MANAGED TO GET THAT RUBBING OF THE PONEGLYPH!" "I'M WORRIED ABOUT BROOK, TOO." "YEAH. THAT'S WHAT I HEARD." "LUFFY AND NAMI GOT CAPTUREDI!" "WHAAA AAATI!" "EVERYONE'S IN TROUBLE! WE GOTTA HURRY!" A massive mirror frame appears with reflections of the crew and a skull-faced figure. "WHAT SORT OF ART STYLE IS THATI!" someone yells as the mirror speaks, "MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL... TELL US WHERE THESE PEOPLE ARE!" In the checkered halls, voices shout, "SHE'S WITH BOSS JINBE!" "IS LUFFY WITH HERI!" "WHATI! SO NAMI'S ESCAPEDI!" "WHOOA! THE MIRROR JUST SPOKE!" "THAT LONG-HAIRED GIRL JUST RAN BY ME!" "J-JINBEI!"

High above the chaotic Whole Cake Island streets, voices cry out, "WHERE ARE YOUI!" "WE CAN'T STOP STRAW HAT LUFFY!" "SANJI!" "REQUESTING MINISTER-CLASS BACKUP!" Inside the mirror dimension, Luffy plummets while shouting, "OOOOO OIIIII!" "HEAR ME OUT!" A massive figure grabs him, "IT'S ME, SANJI!" labeled "THIRD FLOOR, BAUM". Luffy struggles violently, "WAAA AAH!" "OWWWW WWWW!" "YANK" as he is pulled through the air amid explosions and debris.

Doors slam shut with "SHUT!" "BOOM!" "BANG!" "BUHE!" as a woman in a revealing outfit stands in the corridor. Luffy bursts in, "YES. SANJI'S SISTER! YOU!" "WHAT WAS THAT FORI! I'M IN A HURRY HERE!" The woman replies calmly while enemies chase, "DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY!" "HOW FAST IS THIS GUYI! WHERE THE HELL'D HE GOI!" Luffy realizes, "SANJI'S BRIDE, PUDDING, SHE... SHE SAID SHE'S GONNA KILL HIM!" Pudding answers, "HE WAS HERE TILL A MOMENT AGO. YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SANJI, AREN'T YOUI" Luffy yells in shock, "WE'VE BEEN TRICKED! BY PUDDING!" "WHAAAI! REALLYI! WHERE'D HE GOI!"

Reiju stands near the arched door marked 6 as Sanji, battered and shirtless, clutches his head. A voice exclaims, "NO. HE LEARNED ABOUT IT JUST NOW!" Another shouts, "WHAAATI! HE KNEW ABOUT ALL THISI!" Reiju replies calmly, "AS FOR PUDDING... MY LITTLE BROTHER KNOWS. FUFU... THANK YOU. I'M OKAY." She turns to Sanji, "AH! ARE YOU OKAYI! DID YOU GET HURTI!" Luffy erupts in fury, gripping his face, "IF THEY'RE REALLY IN DANGER, I'LL EVEN GO TO EAST BLUE IF I HAVE TO! I'LL SAVE 'EM! THOSE HOSTAGES, THEY'RE THE PEOPLE ON THE BARATIE, RIGHTI! I KNOW THEM TOO!" Reiju explains, "SANJI'S HUNG UP ON THE HOSTAGES IN EAST BLUE AND YOU ALL. HE DOESN'T WANT YOU TO BE HARMED! I TRIED TO CONVINCE HIM TO JUST RUN FROM HERE, BUT..." Later, Luffy sits exhausted on the ground with "HAA- HAA-" sounds, while Reiju offers, "FOOD YOU MAKE! I'LL ONLY EAT" and asks, "WOULD YOU LIKE SOMETHING TO EATI" Sanji refuses, "N-NO!"

Reiju calls out, "OKAY! THANKS, SANJI'S SISTER!" A massive blast tears through the building, shattering windows and structures. Reiju's eyes widen in shock with "!!I" as the destruction rains down around her.

Reiju stares in horror, "THIS MAN LOSES HIS HEADI DO YOU NOT CARE IF..." Judge Vinsmoke glares coldly. In a grand hall filled with spectators, a cloaked figure descends dramatically. Reiju warns Sanji, "AS LONG AS YOU DON'T RUN AWAY, EVERYTHING'LL TURN OUT JUST PEACHY, SANJI." The cloaked attacker declares, "YOU'RE THE SACRIFICE, SANJI." Luffy, Nami, and others react with fury. Luffy growls, "THERE'S NO GOING BACK NOW." Someone shouts, "YOU LOWLIFE PIRATES! GO HOME!" Reiju smiles ominously, "AT TOMORROW'S WEDDING CEREMONY, THE VINSMOKE FAMILY WILL BE SLAUGHTERED!"

A massive object crashes from the sky into the candy-themed town, sending debris and smoke everywhere. Townspeople panic, "SOMETHING JUST FELL DOWN FROM THE SKY! A PERSONI!" One yells, "MY HOUSE!" Luffy lies injured amid rubble, clutching his stomach with hunger pangs marked "HUNGRY, BUT HOPING!" He mutters, "AT THAT PLACE! I GOTTA WAIT FOR HIM..."
