Chapter 966 summary
Roger sees Oden approaching and recognizes him as the samurai they had heard about. Oden charges and attacks with his swords, but Roger stops his crew and defeats Oden with a single strike called Kamusari. Whitebeard then enters the fight, and he and Roger clash with their blades, their Haki tearing the island apart without the weapons touching. The two crews battle for three days and nights until the fighting ends in a truce and gift exchange. Roger reveals the Poneglyphs and his search for the final island that completes the world, then asks Whitebeard to lend him Oden for one year. Oden begs to go, and Whitebeard relents, allowing Oden, his family, and retainers to join the Roger Pirates. They sail onward, visit a Sky Island, and reach its golden bell, where Roger has Oden inscribe a message claiming the passage to the farthest ends of the world.
