Kozuki Oden is depicted as a tall muscular man who carries large clubs while striding through the Flower Capital. He is shown wearing a dark patterned robe in his youth and appears shirtless during dynamic moments such as dancing with arms raised.12

In scenes of confrontation Kozuki Oden glares with wide eyes and gritted teeth or stands with arms crossed in an intense posture above a boiling pot.23

Personality

Kozuki Oden displayed a defiant attitude during his public execution by laughing at the officials and demanding a clock while insisting one hour was too long even for a bath. He ordered his retainers to remain still and confirmed he would hold the officials to their word on the survival condition.4

Kozuki Oden showed intense resolve when captured with his nine retainers at the Flower Capital. He proposed that ten people enter the boiling pot under a survival condition and confirmed he would enforce the officials' promise.5

Abilities and powers

Kozuki Oden is the only person known to have tamed Enma. He carried large clubs while moving through the Flower Capital and caught large fish by the river to prepare oden ingredients.67

Kozuki Oden clashed mid-air with the massive dragon form of Kaido using a club and maintained a resolute posture while bound in the forest. His endurance during these encounters was noted in narration.8

Young Kozuki Oden repeatedly attempted to join pirate crews and leave Wano despite lacking talent for sailing and navigation. He declared his desire to see the world whether legal or not while confronting Whitebeard directly on the matter.14

Kozuki Oden was later encountered by the Roger Pirates on a tropical island beach after time with Whitebeard's crew. News of his return to Wano spread and caused public panic among the people.1819

Kozuki Oden maintained close ties with his nine retainers who remained loyal even after his public execution and attempted to reach Oden Castle despite widespread opposition. Kozuki Oden fought Kaido in mid-air clashes involving clubs against the dragon and horned beast forms. He was ultimately captured along with nine subordinates and taken to the Flower Capital for execution.328

During the execution at the boiling pot Kozuki Oden thrashed in oil heated over seven hundred degrees while clinging to a wooden beam. Arrows carrying messages were launched to warn provincial leaders of Wano about the events.33

Kaido experiences a memory of Kozuki Oden triggered by his wound during later confrontations. A flashback shows young Kozuki Oden kneeling before a burning castle as a dragon coils above.3435

On the rooftop of Onigashima Kaido faces Yamato in dragon form and reminds her of past chains while declaring that Straw Hat and Oden's brat are already dead. Yamato stands with a club and explains she is holding Kaido off until Luffy returns because Luffy is the one Kozuki Oden was waiting for.36
