Buggy's face is shown in a tight close-up, his eyes wide with fury as he snaps, "WHAT DID YOU SAY!?" The pirate continues, "AND ONLY THE ROBBER KNOWS--" The scene cuts to the exterior of the tavern roof as Buggy's voice booms out in a jagged speech bubble: "THIS IS INEXCUSABLE!! Buggy's rage escalates as he mishears again, yelling, "SO NOW IT'S A STEAK?! IT LOOKS LIKE BEEF?!!" The pirate cries, "BUT..." Buggy screams, "FOR THIS YOU DIE!!!" The pirate pleads, "CAP'N, WAIT!! I NEVER SAID--" Suddenly, a disembodied hand wearing a white glove shoots out and grabs the pirate by the throat. A close-up of Buggy's face shows his intense, angry eyes and large round nose as he demands, "WHO AM I?" The pirate is lifted off the ground by the floating hand, choking out, "UMF!! I CAN'T BREATHE! A massive "KABOOOM" explosion erupts, filling the middle of the page. In the aftermath, Buggy stands confidently with his back to the blast, his captain's coat billowing around him. Luffy, sitting casually on a chair while Nami sits on a table, replies, "JUST ONE OTHER GUY. IS THIS YOUR HOUSE?" Nami answers, "NO. MY WORK KEEPS ME ON THE MOVE. I DON'T KNOW WHOSE HOUSE IT IS. THE TOWN IS PRACTICALLY DESERTED. EVERYONE WANTS TO STAY AS FAR FROM THE TAVERN AS POSSIBLE. THAT'S WHERE BUGGY AND HIS PIRATES ARE." Luffy looks confused and asks, "HMMM... ARE NAMI AND HIS MEN REALLY THAT SCARY?" Nami's face turns into a comical, angry caricature with sharp teeth as she yells, "I'M NAMI! BUGGY IS THE PIRATE!!! DON'T MIX ME UP WITH HIM!" Calming down, she looks serious again and adds, "BUGGY......THE INFAMOUS, CANNON-HAPPY BUCCANEER."

Nami continues explaining Buggy's reputation. "THEY SAY SOME KIDS IN A VILLAGE MADE FUN OF HIS NOSE. BUGGY'S CANNONS BLEW THE VILLAGE TO SMITHEREENS..." A shadowy, menacing image of Buggy using his floating hand power appears behind her as she adds, "AND WHAT'S MORE... I'VE HEARD THAT BUGGY HAS MYSTERIOUS POWERS." Luffy, still not quite grasping the situation, says, "HMMM... I WONDER WHY THERE'S NO ONE AROUND HERE..." Nami angrily yells, "I TOLD YOU! EVERYBODY RAN AWAY 'CAUSE THEY'RE SCARED OF BUGGY!!" Luffy smiles and asks, "OH! SO YOU'RE LOOTING THE ABANDONED HOUSES?" Nami furiously slams her hands down with a "WOMP!!" and shouts, "OF COURSE NOT! I ROB PIRATES, NOT VILLAGERS!!" She holds up a rolled piece of paper with a "TADA" sound effect and says, "SEE THIS? I JUST STOLE IT. IT'S A MAP OF THE GRAND LINE!" Nami looks pleasantly surprised and asks, "REALLY!?" Luffy points to himself with a big smile and says, "YEAH! AND YOU COULD BE OUR NAVIGATOR!! WILL YOU JOIN MY PIRATE CREW!" Suddenly, Nami's expression changes to pure fury. In a large close-up, she screams, "NO WAY!!!" while Luffy sits in the background with a confused question mark bubble above his head. Nami turns away, crossing her arms in annoyance, and says, "HMPH... I DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU WERE A PIRATE! FORGET EVERYTHING I SAID! I'D NEVER TEAM UP WITH YOU!" Luffy just stares at her blankly.

Luffy holds the hat gently in front of him, a fond smile on his face, and explains, "I TREASURE THIS HAT BECAUSE A FRIEND GAVE IT TO ME A LONG TIME AGO. THAT'S WHEN I SWORE I'D GATHER A CREW AND BECOME A PIRATE." Nami listens, her expression softening slightly, before she looks down and scoffs, "HMPH! PIRATES, PHOOEY!" Luffy puts his hat back on his head as Nami adds, "THESE ARE CRAZY TIMES."

One of them cries, "A THOUSAND PARDONS, CAP'N BUGGY!" Another tries to explain, "BUT HER BOSS, THE GUY IN THE STRAW HAT, WAS REALLY STRONG!" In the final panel, Buggy's face is shown in an extreme, terrifying close-up as he screams, "FOR THIS YOU DIE!!" Another crewmate shrugs, "BEATS ME, BUT SHE'S HERE." Buggy reiterates, "VERY WELL! BRING HER TO ME!" Suddenly, another pirate with a checkered bandana points frantically, yelling, "C-CAP'N BUGGY! AND HERE'S YOUR MAP!" Buggy looks down at her in surprise. On the floor, the tied-up Luffy yells angrily at Nami, "HEY! YOU TRICKED ME!" Buggy stares at her blankly for a moment, uttering a confused "... HUH?" Suddenly, he throws his head back and erupts into uproarious laughter, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA!!"
