Bartholomew Kuma
Bartholomew Kuma is a former member of the Shichibukai known as the Tyrant who later became the Marines' human weapon designated Pacifista PX-0. He served as a Royal Shichibukai alongside figures such as Donquixote Doflamingo while maintaining ties to the Revolutionary Army. Kuma is recognized for his massive stature, heavy black coat marked with a cross and the word BIBLE, and his decision to undergo extensive modifications that removed his original personality and free will. His actions include separating the Straw Hat crew across the sky and later protecting their ship the Sunny until their return.
Kuma possesses the powers of the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi that allow him to repel anything with his paw pads including attacks and people. He volunteered for Vegapunk's restructuring project to become a combat weapon in exchange for medical treatment for his daughter Bonney. After the modifications his original consciousness was suppressed yet he still carried out protective missions such as guarding the Sunny and advancing through the Holy Land despite orders.
Appearance
Bartholomew Kuma stands tall in a heavy black coat marked with a large cross and the word BIBLE on the spine while holding a large book also labeled BIBLE with a prominent cross emblem. His massive size creates a clear contrast with surrounding smaller figures and structures in any setting. He wears a spotted hat along with round glasses and a dark coat when reclining during meetings.12
After modifications Kuma appears as Pacifista PX-0 with the marking visible on his shoulder and his body covered in scars while wearing a tattered outfit marked with a large cross symbol. His face shows a bandaged appearance under a spotted hat in bounty posters labeled THE TYRANT. In transformed states he takes a large round chained form with exposed head and mechanical elements.345

Bartholomew Kuma ate the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi granting him paw-based abilities that let him repel anything including sword attacks with his bare paws. He fires large paw-shaped shockwaves known as Pad Cannon that repel air at light speed and create penetrating air shockwaves. Multiple rapid Pad Cannon shots can be unleashed in a Swift Pad Cannon barrage.78
Kuma uses his ability to send targets flying across the sky for three days through paw impact that causes disappearance. He performs paw-based attacks creating outward shockwaves and strikes with the Strong Right technique. Warlord and modification period
Kuma raised his daughter Bonney after Ginny's death and promised to cure her Sapphire Scales illness by agreeing to Vegapunk's modifications that would turn him into a human weapon. He departed alone after being branded a pirate and later joined the Shichibukai to roam the seas again while programming a mission to protect the Sunny.141516
Sorbet Kingdom period
Young Bartholomew Kuma served as a pastor at age seventeen in the Castle Town of Sorbet Kingdom where villagers sought him for pain relief and healing. He later became king of the Sorbet Kingdom after citizens rejected the previous ruler and he reluctantly accepted the position while saving over five hundred people with his hands of liberation.111718

Bartholomew Kuma shares a deep bond with his daughter Bonney whom he raised among supportive townspeople after Ginny's death and for whom he accepted modifications to cure her illness. He promised never to seek her out after the changes and programmed protective actions for the Straw Hat crew connected to his ties with Dragon and the Revolutionary Army.191420
