First of all, i saw someone comment about this book a few days ago, and quickly read the parts that looked more relevant so i could make this theory in time for this stream, so the theory is a bit rushed and i havent finished the book.

I came up with this theory after analyzing the historical, and symbolic references/inspirations/hints left by Oda throughout One piece, especially in Elbaf and Egghead. When I heard about "The Sacred Symbols of Mu", as lot of it seemed similar to OP lore.

It is highly likely that Oda drew inspiration from Churchward's theories of a lost pacific motherland ("Mu") to construct the void century, the mystery of the "D" and the true nature of Nika.

Section I: The Great KINGDOM, the Void Century, and the "Scraps" of the kozuki

In Chapter 1113, Vegapunk shocked the world by announcing that the world is sinking into the ocean, and that a massive 200 meter sea-level rise occurred during the Void Century due to the activation of the Ancient Weapons.

This is the exact geological premise of Churchward's work regarding the lost continent of Mu.

"Like all other ancient sciences, archaeology had a dark cloud cast over it when Mu the Motherland sank and the First Great Civilization was wiped out. Only a few scraps in India and Egypt remained."

According to Churchward’s writings, Mu was an enormous ancient continent and was believed to have been the original homeland of humanity. He claimed that its people possessed sophisticated knowledge of architecture, religion, astronomy and natural forces, and that Mu eventually became the source from which many later civilizations around the world inherited their traditions and knowledge.

The continent was built over enormous underground chambers filled with volcanic gases, supporting the land above them. Then, a massive catastrophe began when volcanic activity and earthquakes caused the underground chambers to rupture. The gases escaped through cracks in the earth, the chambers collapsed, causing the land above them to fracture and sink. The Pacific Ocean rushed over the shattered continent, leaving only fragments of land and islands behind.

However, the destruction of Mu did not mean the complete disappearance of its civilization. Survivors spread across the world, carrying Mu’s symbols, traditions, and knowledge, which later influenced other civilizations. He claimed that this history was preserved in ancient Naacal (the language they used, which consists of weird symbols that few people alive can translate) tablets he was shown by an Indian priest, which supposedly described Mu, its civilization, religion, and destruction, as well as the knowledge carried by its survivors.

The Connection to One Piece:

In One Piece, this "dark cloud" is the Void Century, a 100-year gap systematically erased by the World Government. The Motherland of MU is the Great Kingdom, and the "few scraps" (Naacal tablets) of history that survived the global flooding are the Poneglyphs, indestructible stone blocks carved by the Kozuki Clan of Wano and scattered across the world to preserve the truth of the Great Kingdom.

Extra: the geographical disaster of the gas chambers may be related to the use of the mother flame to fuel society or something like that...

Section II: The Sun Symbolism, Nika, and the "Sons of the Sun"

Throughout the series, we have seen various cultures worshiping or aligning themselves with the Sun. Most notably Elbaf, Shandora, the Sun Pirates and Kuma's church. Luffy’s fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, represents the "Sun God Nika." But is Nika a literal deity (or someone that existed)?

"The Sun was never looked upon as a god by the ancients but as a symbol only of the Deity...

'Son of the Sun' was a title bestowed on the rulers or emperors of a colonial empire by Mu, the Empire of the
Sun and Suzerain of the whole world."

The Connection to One Piece:

Vegapunk explained that Devil Fruits are born from human desire; thus, "Nika" is not a traditional, physical god, but the manifestation of the collective desire for freedom, joy, and liberation. This aligns with Churchward's assertion that "the Sun was never a literal god, but a monotheistic symbol of the divine principle of liberation and life."

Furthermore, the title "Sons of the Sun" was historically bestowed upon the rulers of Mu’s allied or colonial empires. In One Piece, the ancient allies of the Great Kingdom, such as the Kozuki Clan, the Nefertari Family, Kuma's church and the Shandians, all bear solar crests. They are the true "Sons of the Sun," sovereign protectors of Mu's legacy who refused to bow to the 20 Kings.

Section III: The Mystery of "D." — Rising vs. Setting Suns

One of the longest running mysteries in One Piece is what the letter "D" represents. Is it a half moon? A smile?

The Connection to One Piece:

The letter "D" is literally a graphic depiction of a half-sun on the horizon. However, Churchward highlights a vital dualism between two types of half-suns:

1. The Rising Sun with Rays (Fig. C): This represents the Dawn of the World (the Sun rising). This is the lineage of Luffy (Joy Boy), who carries the will of Nika, the rising sun destined to bring light back to a dark world.
2. The Setting Sun without Rays (Fig. D): This represents the Setting Sun (the Sun dipping into darkness). This is the lineage of Blackbeard/Xebec and Davy D. Jones or the "corrupt" (more like another will/interpretation) path of the D. clan. It is a symbol of twilight, darkness, and the end of an era (The destroyer interpretation on nika).

This explains why the clan of "D" is called the "Natural Enemies of God" (the World Government/Celestial dragons, who fear the Rising Sun, and the Setting Sun, as both represent great change), but also why there is an internal division within the D. Clan itself (Luffy vs. Blackbeard). The 2 D's together form the "O", the sun, they are two halves of the same cosmic cycle: the Dawn and the Dusk.

Section IV: The Kozuki Crest and the "Eight Roads to Heaven"

The family crest of the Kozuki clan, Kuma's church and Alabasta features a central sun ring surrounded by eight smaller circles. This design is not arbitrary, it is an exact replica of one of Mu’s most sacred diagrams.

The Connection to One Piece:

In Churchward's book, the "Eight Roads to Heaven" represents the eight paths of cosmic order radiating from the supreme center (the Motherland, Mu).

In the world of One Piece, the central circle represents the Great Kingdom (Mu), and the eight surrounding circles represent the 8 Allied Nations/Factions that stayed loyal to it during the catastrophic war of the Void Century. While 19 nations united to form the World Government, a key faction of 8 major nations/groups, including Wano/Kozuki, Alabasta, Lunarians, Fish-Man, Zou (not yet Zou, but the minks race/kingdom they had at the time), Elbaf/giants and ancient giants, Tontattas, and others stood with Joy Boy (im not entirely sure but i would say that the eight one is Joyboys crew, but maybe im missing one or just havent appeard yet in the story). They adopted the "Eight Roads" symbol as their crest to pass down the promise of his return.

Also Blackbeard's flag features eight crossbones crossed behind the skulls. This could be a direct subversion of Mu's most sacred symbol, the "Eight Roads to Heaven". While Wano and Alabasta protected the "Eight Roads" of the ancient alliance, Blackbeard's flag represents his intention to plunder and conquer these eight survivor nations to establish his own dark empire.

EXTRA: MU AND IMU

You're probaly been wondering about the connection between Mu and Imu.

Imu has been calling himself Mu, since he first spoke, but why does he do that, if his name is actually Imu? In chapter 1188 we see a quick flashback to when Imu and Joyboy first met. Imu answears joyboy by saying, "this is Mu... Imu!"

It seems that he either made a mistake, or changed his mind, later calling himself Imu. This could be because he first answered Mu, as in, I'm someone from Mu, Mu as a country is answering your call. The words that Imu uses (in the original Japanese) are very formal/educated, showing he has a higher level of education than Joyboy, maybe because he is royalty, which would explain why he started by saying Mu, as he could actually be a representative of MU as a country.

Plus there is the I and Mu, forming I'm Mu, an english play on the words

By referring to themselves as "Mu", Imu is declaring: "I am not merely the king of this world. I am the Motherland, i am the WORLD

To be honest i dont have much to go off here, but i believe this will become clearer as Imu lore gets revealed....

The End of the Story and the Great Draining

Based on everything pointed here, we can make three major predictions for the ending of One Piece:

1. The Red Line is an Artificial Barrier

Churchward writes that the submersion of Mu was followed by the "subsequent formation of gas belts and mountains" which fractured the Earth's crust. In One Piece, the Red Line is not a natural geographic feature; it is an artificial, continent-spanning wall constructed by Imu using ancient earth-shaping technology to divide the seas and keep the global population isolated and easy to control.

2. The One Piece is a Global Drainage Mechanismw

The "One Piece" hidden at Laugh Tale is the trigger mechanism for the Ancient Weapons, most probably the mother flame/the sun, or something like that. When Luffy finds it, he'll use it to destroy the Red Line. By shattering the Red Line (specifically at Fish-Man Island/Mary Geoise, fullfilling madam Shyarly prophecy etc), the tectonic pressure will be released, causing the sea levels to drop dramatically (200M+).

3. The Resurrection of "Mu" (The All Blue)

Once the Red Line is destroyed and the water recedes, the vast continent of the Ancient Kingdom that was submerged will reappear. The four separated seas will merge into one, creating the All Blue (btw the all blue is a metaphor for the world united as one, geographically and culturally). The world will no longer be fragmented into isolated islands, it will return to its original, unified state: The Motherland of Mu (in One Piece/Pangea/we all heard of this).
