Chapter 39 summary
Luffy stands up angrily and defeats the Black Cat Pirates with his yell. He calls out for the evil butler Kuro, who suddenly appears and kicks him. Kuro slashes at Luffy but misses as Luffy grabs his arm. Luffy declares he will never be a pirate like Kuro while holding him. In the forest Kaya threatens to kill herself to save the Usopp Pirates from Jango, then writes the will under duress. Usopp and Zoro arrive as Jango prepares to kill Kaya, and the Usopp Pirates tackle Jango allowing Usopp to hit him with a gunpowder star. Kuro rages at his crew as Luffy stretches his arms back for an attack. Luffy launches forward and headbutts Kuro in the face.
