Chapter 607 summary
The crew of Vander Decken's ship panics as undersea volcanoes begin to erupt and the captain orders them to turn back. Luffy's group on their vessel urges the kraken Surume to flee the area while Luffy excitedly wants to watch the eruptions up close and directs everyone to the front of the ship. A massive volcanic blast hurls rocks and scalding water outward, sending Franky screaming on his BF-37 metal horse and tossing the kraken and ship violently through the chaos. The crew yells about rising temperatures and magma flowing across the seafloor as the temperature difference creates a whirlpool that pulls them along. Nami directs the ship straight ahead toward Fishman Island while the others urge Surume onward through the dangerous currents. The group reaches the edge of a deep dark trench and debates whether to enter the pitch-black depths. Luffy commands Surume to leap in despite the crew's fears of monsters and certain death below. The kraken dives into the abyss with the ship following close behind.
