Chapter 549 summary
On Level 4 of Impel Down, Blackbeard thanks Shiryu for saving the crew with an antidote and welcomes him aboard after Shiryu decides to leave the prison. The escape ship sails the Tri-Current while Ivankov tends to the weakened Inazuma and the prisoners mourn Bon Clay on deck. Luffy rejects any funeral and insists Bon Clay may still be alive. A Marine broadcast exposes Buggy's history with Gol D. Roger and Shanks, after which Luffy grabs the receiver and declares he will save Ace. Buggy's followers turn on Luffy's group and demand the ship to avoid Marine Headquarters, but Buggy rallies them with a speech about dreams and taking Whitebeard's head. At Marine Headquarters, guards lead Ace in chains up the stairs toward the execution platform as he recalls his promises with Luffy. Ace reaches the doors to the scaffold, which begin to open.
