Sir Crocodile
Sir Crocodile is a former pirate who holds membership in the Shichibukai after carrying an 80 million beri bounty during his active days at sea. He operates as the leader of Baroque Works under the codename Mr. 0 while pursuing control of Pluton to establish military supremacy and a personal utopia beyond the reach of the World Government. He becomes known for directing operations that destabilize Alabasta and for later alliances formed during escapes from Impel Down and the creation of Cross Guild.
Appearance
Sir Crocodile presents a tall figure marked by visible scars across his face and a large golden hook replacing his left hand. He wears a fur-collared coat that billows during movement and keeps a cigar in his mouth during conversations. His eyes narrow into a cold smirk when issuing commands from behind a desk in a lavish office.12
The hook remains raised defensively after encounters with water and swings through the air with motion lines during confrontations. Crocodile's coat and shirt become visibly wet with water droplets when splashed, revealing the contrast between his usual dry appearance and sudden exposure to moisture.2

Sir Crocodile issues violent orders without hesitation and laughs after commanding the assassination of Mr. 3. He prefers traditional delivery methods for instructions once Den Den Mushi contact ends to avoid Marine interception. His calm confident tone persists while explaining ambitious plans involving ancient weapons.314
Crocodile refuses to trust anyone including long-term partners and anticipates betrayal after four years of association with Nico Robin. He admits he never trusted Robin or anyone else while planning to obtain Pluton after taking over the country. Sir Crocodile possesses the Suna Suna Fruit power that allows his body to turn into sand and control sand as a sand man. His right hand absorbs all moisture so that people and plants wither on contact while stone and earth turn to sand. He presses his hand to barriers to dry and crumble doors until they burst open in explosions of dust.6
Crocodile launches Barchan sand waves that sweep through corridors and send guards flying during escapes. He equips a poison hook after deciding to treat Luffy as a real enemy following multiple encounters. Blood from opponents affects his sand form and allows direct damage when it lands on him.78

Baroque Works operations
Crocodile begins operations as Mr. 0 within Baroque Works by contacting agents through Den Den Mushi before switching to traditional orders. He commands Mr. 2 be sent to Little Garden and orders the assassination of Mr. 3 after a failed report. Miss All Sunday comments on the violent nature of these directives from his office.31
Alabasta crisis
Post Alabasta period
Years later Sir Crocodile appeared as a prisoner in a striped uniform after his defeat. He was succeeded in the Shichibukai by Blackbeard and later participated in events at Marine Headquarters where he publicly resigned his position.141516

Relationships
Sir Crocodile maintains a four-year partnership with Nico Robin yet never trusts her and anticipates betrayal. He questions why she lied about Poneglyph contents and reacts with shock upon learning she sought the Rio Poneglyph instead. Robin twists free during their final confrontation after splashing him with water.5182
Crocodile works alongside Luffy during the Impel Down escape and later fights him in Alabasta while imposing time limits on battles.
