A long-haired crew member with a checkered scarf stands with one hand on their head, looking down at a bound figure lying on a mat. Another crew member with wild hair and a fur-collared outfit raises both arms in anguish. In the background, Buggy sits inside the structure. YOU HAVEN'T REALLY BEEN HURT AT ALL!” Another voice calls, “PEARL, IT'S FINE!” Inside, a chef asks “WHAT...I” while another says, “SO JUST CALM DOWN, PEARL!”

HE'S DOING THAT THING HE LEARNED TO DO WHILE GROWING UP IN THE JUNGLE!" Pearl ignites his armor, flames erupting around him with the sound "ゴオオオ". On the Baratie deck, cooks react in shock: "IT'S HIS DEFENCE TACTIC AGAINST BEASTS!I" and "WHAT!I" Pearl's massive flaming form looms as he yells "DON'T YOU DARE GET CLOSE TO ME!" while his shield plates spin with "CRACKLE" and the label "FIRE PEARL'S..." appears amid roaring flames.

Chapter 55 summary

Pearl stands frozen on the Baratie deck after a nosebleed, prompting the Krieg Pirates to panic and urge him to calm down while the cooks watch in confusion. Pearl declares his iron wall broken and begins clacking his shields before erupting into flames, using his jungle-honed defense tactic to surround himself with fire and threaten anyone nearby. Luffy pulls Sanji to safety as Pearl unleashes waves of fire that spread across the deck and trap the cooks. Sanji charges through the flames and lands repeated kicks on Pearl, breaking through his defenses and enraging him further until Pearl fires indiscriminate fireballs. Zeff drops from above and extinguishes the surrounding flames with a single powerful kick that generates a gust of wind. Krieg launches his spiked flail at the restaurant, but Luffy deflects it with Gomu Gomu no Bazooka, sending the weapon crashing into the mast which then falls onto Pearl. Gin appears holding a pistol to Zeff's head and tells Sanji to stop fighting.
