Chapter 568 summary

At Marineford the pirates and Marines react as Garp takes a stand in front of Ace, and Whitebeard smiles at the sight. Akainu tells Whitebeard not to ruin the town while the Whitebeard Pirates and their allies charge forward to clear a path to Ace. Ace watches from the platform and recalls his childhood, when townspeople blamed him for Roger's actions and Dadan scolded him for fighting, until Garp told the boy to keep living and find his own answer. In the present Luffy, still barely conscious, begs Ivankov for another hormone injection despite the risk. Pirates shout encouragement to Ace as Whitebeard suddenly coughs blood and drops to one knee. The admirals exploit the distraction, with Kizaru shooting Marco, Aokiji freezing Jozu, and Akainu driving a magma fist into Whitebeard's torso. Ivankov at first refuses Luffy's demand but finally agrees and injects him again, telling him to do what he will. Luffy screams and releases a massive roar that draws the battlefield's attention as he forces himself upright.
