Marco
Marco is the former first division captain of the Whitebeard Pirates who also served as the ship's doctor. He participated in key encounters with other pirate crews and later aided allies against threats including the Beast Pirates. Marco is known for his mythical Zoan abilities that allow regeneration and for his role in protecting Whitebeard's legacy after major conflicts.
Appearance

Marco states the Marines targeted the most affected man because Ace is Roger's son in an urgent explanatory tone.56
Marco answers simply that Whitebeard calls them his sons and explains that even if it is just a word it makes them happy. He tells Ace he hopes he will not keep up the nonsense forever because Ace made a decision to either leave the ship now or stay and bear Whitebeard's mark. Marco firmly orders the creature not to fly until tomorrow in a stern commanding intent.78

Marco blocks Kizaru's Yasakani no Magatama attack using his blue flames and demonstrates instant regeneration from a Kizaru laser attack via those same flames. He is identified as the user of a mythical Zoan fruit and appears in phoenix form during battles while using his flames to suppress a virus and repel ice demons.91011

Ace joining the crew
Marco notes that Ace is stubborn every single day and answers Ace's question about why they call Whitebeard their old man. Ace earns his place among the Whitebeard Pirates after making the Doma gang surrender and the crew decides he is the man for the Second Division commander job.7
Post war activities
Marco completes treatment on the lion-like creature using his flame and explains that the country became lawless after falling and being unable to pay the celestial offering. He states that the crew decided to protect Whitebeard's important things after the Summit War and plans to head to Wano to contact Nekomamushi.178
