Chapter 578 summary

Blackbeard revels in the Gura Gura power he stole from Whitebeard and threatens to sink Marineford, but Sengoku transforms into his giant Buddha form and slams a shock wave into Blackbeard and his crew to protect the island. Sengoku declares that the fortress can be rebuilt and that Marineford's justice will stand. Elsewhere on the battlefield Akainu catches up to Jimbei, who carries the unconscious Luffy, and drives a magma fist through Jimbei to strike Luffy as well. Crocodile intervenes with a sand blast that hurls the wounded pair away from Akainu and orders allies to carry them to the escape ships. Buggy accidentally catches Jimbei and Luffy in midair while the Whitebeard Pirates form up to shield them from Akainu. As the battle rages on without end, a submarine surfaces and Trafalgar Law calls for Luffy to be brought aboard. Law states that he and the Heart Pirates will take Luffy away because he is a doctor.
