After the events twenty years ago Kawamatsu served as Hiyori's retainer digging an escape tunnel under the burning castle and gradually cheering her through small acts until they separated when she was thirteen. He was later imprisoned for thirteen years in Udon.1314

Reunion and release

Kawamatsu reunites with Raizo in Udon and later breaks free during an attack on the prison. He regains his sword and fights Beast Pirates guards before the mine becomes a base of operations. He reunites with Hiyori and Kin'emon while revealing a hidden store of weapons.1516
